Marketing
Make a good impression
Try to be professional and polite. Pay attention to the cultural factors at work in your target market. Even if contacts do not immediately become customers, you will be remembered.
Meetings
Try to respect the business etiquette of your targeted country when going to meetings. Use the NJ/Italy Trade Council or the US Department of Commerce websites as a starting point.
Website
Prospective clients will make up their mind about you by visiting your company’s website. Your website must be informative, clearly structured and should include graphics and other visual displays. Market your products and services by using brochures and photos.
Business goals
To help New Jersey exporters promote their products, the NJ/Italy Trade Council is associated with two types of trade missions:
• From New Jersey to Italian markets (selling missions)
• From Italian markets to New Jersey (buying missions)
New Jersey missions will be sponsored by industry and/or government. They will be conducted by government officials and/or recognized industry leaders. Because of their group power and high profile, New Jersey selling missions are able to effectively promote export opportunities.
Suppliers Directory
Another way of promoting yourself overseas is by registering your company in the NJ/Italy Trade Council’s Business to Business Directory.
